To further our efforts of “Invest in Your Community” the Menomonee Falls Community Chamber established a scholarship program in 2005. This scholarship program will benefit both a graduating senior from Menomonee Falls High School and a graduating senior from Hamilton High School pursuing a 2 year Technical Education Degree. Each student shall be awarded $1000.00 per year for 2 years. The Menomonee Falls Community Chamber originally funded this program with 25% of its net revenue during the year of the program’s inception. In the future this program will be funded by proceeds from THE BIG PIG GIG. (See below for details)

We are happy to report that at the end of the 2007 School year the Menomonee Falls Community Chamber awarded 2 Technical Education Scholarships! The recipient from Menomonee Falls High School was Sam Goetter and the recipient from Hamilton High School was Dan Neuhaus.

Sam Goetter distinguished himself through his high academic achievement, volunteerism and a clear vision of his desires for the future. Sam plans on pursuing a career in carpentry. He will be attending WCTC for 2 years and then getting a carpentry apprenticeship.

Dan Neuhaus distinguished himself as a candidate for this scholarship through his practical experience in the field of his choice. While in school Dan began preparing for his future by showing the maturity it takes to not only do well in school, but also working 20-25 hours per week as a machine operator and shop assistant. Dan plans on pursuing a career as a Machine Tool Operator or a CNC Programmer.

WHAT’S NEXT?
This September 28th – 30th marks the inaugural THE BIG PIG GIG, hosted by the Menomonee Falls Community Chamber. This will be an annual event and the Menomonee Falls Community Chamber has committed 10% of the net revenue from this event to go towards the Scholarship program. The Chamber hopes that with this funding the scholarship program may be expanded and perhaps a 4 year scholarship could be offered in the future.
